M240 latest firmware and GPS in Multi Function grip

Hello fellow reddoters

Is any improvement in GPS functioning after last firmware? Last time, i was checking it was terribly laggy and sometimes exif misses geotag info.

This made a MFG simple useless for me 😐

I hear you, and no firmware seems to address this issue, I guess it was the hardware design issue. 

My work around is to keep the camera on, it will sleep if not active, and the GPS seems to be more "awake".  I get more photos with GPS stamp.  I once had the camera on for a week by accident and the battery did not drain at all.  Now whenever I have the GPS grip mounted, I will keep the camera on during the entire outing, seems fine.  Hope it helps. 

PS it takes about 2-3 minutes to calibrate your location every time you power it up.  You can forget it if you are indoor or many skyscrapers in surrounding.

If my m240 / m246 are still on - i'm holding camera in hand or it hang on  my shoulder, after 20-25 min gets really hot. Kinda worrying about it, honestly.... Is it normal for this generation, or just my fearless soul XD ?

hmmm strange, it doesn't happen on mine.  Please see what other members had to say or probably better creating a new thread as most will ignore this post if they don't use GPS grip.
