Nice composition. You captured a sculpture by Arnaldo Pomodoro as did AZach in the post (#17) above in the Vatican. Was that intentional?

Nice series of the Vatican. A post that followed you shows a work by the same sculptor in Darmstadt, cool.

No intention, just coincidence. When I saw  #17 I also thought it could be a work by Pomodoro, but I had no possibility to get it confirmed. Seems, you are a specialist in modern bronze sculptures!

Sorry War. Puglia, southern Italy, Alberobello. I dug out a village shot, it's a fantastic area to explore, very fortunate to have been there.

An unexpected UNESCO site,  quite beautiful. I had no idea that such a place existed in Italy. You were fortunate to have visited it. Thanks for posting, it sets me off on some more research.

It was pure luck, we booked a trip because of this area, my wife read a small article in a magazine on "Puglia", and there was a picture or two of the "trulli". This started us off planning and we incorporated it into one of the Europe trips. (there is about 24 hours of flying to get from where we are to Europe)

Another wonderful find whilst in the area was Matera, another UNESCO site. No domes that I can recall though......................

Prior shot was from the rooftops. This slightly different, from the Grand Canal.

Nice shot, not usual tourist-like Venice vantage point.

Thanks for the info on Matera, another place not typically Italian.

A pleasure WAR. If you get to Puglia, make the effort to get to Matera, amazing place, I wished we had longer than the day there.

There is a forum member who lives reasonably close too, if you go liaise with him perhaps. (PM me if you want his details)

The original Buckminster Fuller design. I came close to building something like this as a home back in the early 1970s.

Not architectural, but still a dome. He sells honey at our local farmers' market.
