Don Morley Posted May 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Much as I love my SL, CL and for that matter my Leica Q I still find I need also to retain a Canon 5D Mk3 outfit simply because of the occasional need for TTL electronic flash and where the Canon flash guns are so good, whereas whenever I read about any of the Leica guns I get the impression they cost a lot but do not actually do what they are suposed to do? Any comments and advice about any TTL electronic flash guns which genuinly do work on such as the SL especially would be most welcome . Don

jaapv Posted May 14, 2021 Share #3 Posted May 14, 2021 Small - SF 40, bigger SF 60. Both excellent flashes built by Nissin.
hellobrandonscott Posted May 16, 2021 Share #4 Posted May 16, 2021 Currently use two SF-60s for work and can confirm, they’re amazing. Way better than my old canon 600s.

RM70 Posted May 16, 2021 Share #6 Posted May 16, 2021 If you don’t plan to use TTL, then I find Profoto A1X an amazing flash. Its simplicity of operation is great. You can use it in manual mode using any of the models except the Sony version. I use the Fuji one because I may get into the Fuji system in the future. I always used to use TTL flash and was worried about using a fully manual version. However, I have found that with a few quick test shots you can get the right output power for properly exposed photos. However, some situations demand TTL because there are no second chances, so please bear that in mind. Best of luck
