Note that once the raw is imported into Adobe's software it is automatically cropped to 6000 x 4000. The extra pixels around the edge are likely useless and therefore are thron away. This is typical for most cameras, AFAIK. Edited September 24, 2021 by SrMi

Michael Jacobson Posted October 5, 2021 Share #32  Posted October 5, 2021 Hi, I’m having a problem after installing 3.0 on my SL2, which is my 90MM F2.0 APO no longer works (I get a lens firmware not supported message) whereas my 50MM F2.0 APO works fine (it seemed to do a firmware upgrade when I first attached it to the SL2 with 3.0 firmware). Has anyone else had this problem for the 90MM? More important, does anyone know a fix for the problem? Thanks, Michael

Michael Jacobson Posted October 5, 2021 Share #35  Posted October 5, 2021 Thanks for the feedback. I have the SL2 3.0 firmware for my SL2 camera. I did connect my 90mm APO and 50mm APO lenses and turned on the camera for each (a few times). The 50mm did update the firmware but the 90mm did not. So I don’t know if there is a bug with the 3.0 firmware not recognizing and updating for the 90mm or if there is a problem with the 90mm lens itself. The 90mm has been working perfectly for me before with the 2.1 firmware.

This is typical for most cameras, AFAIK. No, they're hardly useless. I'm coming in late to this party, but I noticed in the EXIF dumps from the files shot with the Sigma contemporary 24/3.5 (a very nice lens, BTW) that there is a WarpRectilinear correction applied to undo distortion. The correction interpolates the captured pixels back to the larger, non-rectangular but undistorted frame from which they were found in the original image. Adobe, which treats WarpRectilinear correction as mandatory, then trims the image back to the 400x600 pixels that it feels you want. C1, in the crop frame, lets you keep as many as you want in the larger corrected image, even if the ratio of edge lengths is no longer exactly 2:3.   C1 also has a slider to let you adjust the amount of correction so that if you think that interpolation has taken something away from your resolution in the corners you can just use the captured image without any correction. This is a sensible thing to do if there are no straight lines near the edges in your image. The 90mm has been working perfectly for me before with the 2.1 firmware. My 90 Summicron was updated no problem when I connected it to my SL2-s. I suspect the firmware update was not fully completed on yours for some reasons. Have you tried contacting Leica about the issue?
Michael Jacobson Posted October 6, 2021 Share #39  Posted October 6, 2021 Thanks for your reply, Simone. I contacted Leica today, and it seems like there was some sort of firmware update glitch (a rather unlikely event I was told) that evidently will require the attention of a Leica technician. At least they will cover the shipping and promise a quick turnaround.
