I usually shoot in DNG and do the post processing in Lightroom where I convert some photos into black and white, often with Silver Efex Pro. But the in-camera B&W conversion of the Q2 is very nice and of course stays closer to the Leica look than the Lightroom or SilverEfex conversion. Does anyone know a way to apply this Leica conversion afterwards? Or can this only be done once, at the time of shooting?
Of course I can also shoot in DNG + JPG (B&W film style) as standard, but then the EVF also changes to a black and white EVF, which I prefer not to have.

imo, the b&w jpegs from panasonic are absolutely gorgeous and the ones from my cl and q2, not so much. not awful, but not as good. up until recently i devoted one fn button on the cl and q2 to film style so i could toggle between b&w and color.

but i've recently started experimenting with shooting jpg + raw and while the verdict is still very much out on how worthwhile it is given the time and storage and workflow burdens it imposes and which it takes just to equal the ooc jpegs, the raw program i found (mac os raw power) allows me to use luts. and i have hundreds of luts including ones which mimic nearly any film stock you've ever heard of, even going back to the dozens of eastman varieties designed for movie use but used to be fairly popular with stills photographers in the 50s and 60s when i was getting started.

i'm still in the comparison stage, but a couple of things which bother me are that the 3 raw programs i have for mac don't recognize the crops and the raw files display in color even if i shot them in b&w, which really makes me dislike raw even more.

and if the evf didn't go to b&w when i selected it as the style, i'd really really complain about it. loud and long! :)

It would make me dislike the programs even more  🥸. Are you sure that you have your import settings correct. They should include the sidecar and JPG  files. Of course raw files display in colour. B&W raw files from a Bayer sensor always do. That is the reason that Leica provides DNG + JPG. If you want full quality raw monochrome raw files you should buy a Monochrom.

I have to second this.  Being someone who has a Q2 and a Q2 monochrom - the converted Q2 files dont hold a candle to the pure black and white from the Q2M.  Theyre two entirely different animals.
