Herbertus Posted April 30, 2021 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, as you have probably read the "title" you might already have an idea what my Problem is, but im going to give you a bit of background story. I hope its goint to make it more understandable. So i got my leica SL 1-2 Years ago. Since then i have updated the Firmware some times, since the 3.4 Update, i didn't do any updates. So a few days ago, i updated it, and lets just say, it wasn't the smartest decision. It locked the MC-21 out (which previously worked), and also some other lenses, i borrowed from a friend also didn't work. So now, is there any way i can like downgrade it? I tried "updating" to an older version but i just got an error. Please, if someone knows a solution to the problem, i would be very glad to hear it THANKS in advance!! Advertisement Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Hi Herbertus, Take a look here Leica SL Firmware Downgrade (i know its sounds silly but please i need help). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 30, 2021 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2021 First reset the camera. If that doesn't help, you can possibly update the MC 21 by using the Sigma USB dock (check compatibility on the Sigma site) You cannot downdate the camera, but you can call Leica for advice. Herbertus Posted April 30, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted April 30, 2021 So first thank jaapv for the quick answer again 😅. I already tried reseting the Camera but it seemed like it only reseted the settings, and i didn't find a button to reset like the whole camera. I would like to try the USB dock option, but sadly i don't have one to my hand, i mght get one, but since they are not avalibe for L mount, that option will cancel out. Still thanks for your help. Leica/Sigma announced the MC-21 was compatible with the 601 and then very quickly reversed that decision (within days). The last firmware to come out before the MC21 began shipping quietly made it incompatible. The dock will do nothing. A Leica service center *may* be able to downgrade the software. Germany certainly can but probably won't. Gordon
