FrankX Posted September 4, 2021 Share #25 Posted September 4, 2021 Did anyone compare the new Sigma 35 1.4 to the Summicron-SL 35? I am interested in AF(C), 3D pop and light gathering capabilities (really T1.4 vs. T2.0?).

At this time, the only 28mm f1.4 L mount lens from Sigma is based on the original DSLR version. The lens produces super quality images, although it's very large and heavy, and probably focuses like a dog rooting through a sock drawer.

Mr. Kabe must have a consultancy agreement with Sigma without kidding. It looks good to me. Nice bouquet and the sharpness is also looking good but not to harsh. Teh only thing I dislike is the left part from the portrait in 100%. It's looking a bit unnatural - but that could come from the 100% viewing. It might be because of the fast roll-off next th the eyebrows. Reduce the sharpness (which needs to be done with C1 all the thime imho) and it might improve.
