Am I missing ? Or they just don’t have it? Its really frustrating

beewee Posted March 27, 2021 Share #7 Posted March 27, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don’t think there’s a way to actually disable auto-rotation. What software are you using to view your photos?

What software are you using to view your photos? As you can see i took this photo vertically but when i play view it not turning. Is this normal? Even Q had it. Welcome, dear visitor! Yes, that’s normal for the camera display. If it rotated on the camera screen the image would look VERY small. Auto rotate is meant for images downloaded to other devices like your phone or computer. Photoworks Posted March 28, 2021 Share #11 Posted March 28, 2021 So you turned the camera vertical to take the picture. Why do you want to turn the camera to view it horizontal to play the image?
LD_50 Posted March 28, 2021 Share #12 Posted March 28, 2021 It’s obvious people want to review the image in the orientation they shot it and intend to view it. Most cameras I’ve owned have this option.

LD_50 Posted March 28, 2021 Share #14 Posted March 28, 2021 The manual states images are not rotated in review mode in order to utilize the entire screen.

Photoworks Posted March 28, 2021 Share #16 Posted March 28, 2021 4 hours ago, Hotdoug said: wow....... they should leave as option..... you realize that a rotated image will be fitter to the screen size, so that it be displayed 1/2 size of what you have now. I think you are the only one here that want that.
mumu Posted March 28, 2021 Share #17 Posted March 28, 2021 I never missed it and had no idea that everyone would youse it.
Daniel C.1975 Posted March 28, 2021 Share #18 Posted March 28, 2021 I know I had this option in past cameras, never liked it, always turned it off. In my opinion it is a crappy and very inconsistence way to work. So, for me it is perfectly fine how it is. However, I agree, they should give the user the choice to make the decision. All my other camera had this functionality Is rotating your SL2-S through 90 degrees to chimp a problem? You have to do it to take a picture in portrait orientation. If the camera's attached to a tripod there's always this option. Pete.
