Gelatino Posted March 25, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) To sensor experts, Do any of you see a defect line ( would be on upper zone , so in the lower part of the sensor) on this picture ? For the story, it was taken as a test of the M-P 240 I am selling, at f/16 ISO 200 on tripod. I sent it in DNG to a potential buyer who tells me he sees a horizontal line in upper zone. Cropping to 1:1 and 2:1 with LR, I absolutely don't see any defect except some dust in different places. Thank you for your opinion . Welcome, dear visitor! Gelatino Posted March 25, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted March 25, 2021 analog-digital, I know that two points are enough to define a line , but I was not speaking of that one.😜
Gelatino Posted March 25, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted March 25, 2021 The white spot on the right seems to be a dead pixel, but not the black one in the middle . I 'll have a sensor cleaning and will see what remains .
analog-digital Posted March 26, 2021 Share #6 Posted March 26, 2021 Why don't you ask him if he can show you the line in the picture .....?

He/she is looking for a way out of the deal. There is no line in the photograph. John
jaapv Posted March 28, 2021 Share #8 Posted March 28, 2021 The bottom line is buyer's remorse
Good To Be Retired Posted March 28, 2021 Share #9 Posted March 28, 2021 I see no line in this image, but if you would like to post to Dropbox or something the same DNG you sent the buyer that might be helpful. Personally, as you are referring to your trading partner as a POTENTIAL buyer, I suspect that I would just say thank you and begin looking for a better buyer. Whether you're right or wrong the guy's going to be a problem. 2

Gelatino Posted March 29, 2021 Author Share #11 Posted March 29, 2021 Two new contacts this morning. Hope one of the two will be the good one. Anyway, the camera, for sensor inspection, will be seen in a Leica center tomorrow for personal information.
Gelatino Posted April 4, 2021 Author Share #12 Posted April 4, 2021 I report after phone contact with Leica center, as from what I understood, a visual exam is not appropriate to find a dead pixel. To highlight dead pixel(s), one shoud take a picture in low light conditions (high ISO, long exposure), closing to max not being necessary, what I have done. Result is absolutely no dead pixel on my sensor.
Maarten Posted April 6, 2021 Share #13 Posted April 6, 2021 Since you exchanged the DNG raw file, could it be a software effect? One program reading the DNG showing a line and the other software not?
