Easy to get 3-D effect at full aperture but those blown out backgrounds may look so boring. How do you manage to keep some 3-D rendering at medium to slow aperture? Just a try here (Digital CL, MATE, f/8).

For whatever reason I get good 3D pop with a subject sometimes in front of the focus. Maybe by a small bit, maybe I misfocused, maybe I had another subject in mind. But this way the backgrounds will be a bit less blown. The weapon of choice: 35 Summicron ASPH (v5)
