mikeleng Posted March 15, 2021 Share #6 Posted March 15, 2021 Good set Allan, how do you like the Leica II, I'm thinking of purchasing the same model, I know its going to be a learning curve with it, but I just love the look of them . Thanks Mike
Pyrogallol Posted March 15, 2021 Share #7 Posted March 15, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Leica 11 is my favourite screw model, without the slow speeds that often feel a bit fragile.

Thanks Mike Thanks Mike! The Leica II is so compact, it has a slightly smaller feel than later Barnack cameras (it actually is just slightly smaller). I had mine serviced a few years ago by YYE Camera and it works like new with a bright rangefinder window and clear viewfinder. The shutter is a bit louder than I expected, noticeably more than my IIIg. But it's very straightforward in everyday use. There are no strap lugs on the II, but I use a wrist strap attached to the tripod socket from gordyscamerastraps.com, it works perfectly.

Precisely... I can't remember the last time I used any slow speeds myself!
