Wide open. Sure it’s sharper after the CLA.

This photo is gorgeous and is a showcase for the beautiful bokeh this lens can produce ❤️

I just got this lens - version 3. Comparing it to my Cron 50/2 rigid I find:

  • the lux center sharpness is about the same as the cron, perhaps even a bit sharper.
  • the lux fall off from center is, to my eyes, more pleasing than the cron.
  • and of course I love that the lux is .7M min focus distance compared to the cron 1M min focus distance.

At this point I'm not seeing a reason to grab the cron over the lux. What do you think?

Here are 3 sample images (to the forum mod, I sized these to display a max 1,092 pixels on the longest side - hope I did this correctly, but not sure why they look smaller when posted than other images):

Great images! I'm not familiar with the Cron other than from pictures I've seen, but otherwise I agree with everything.

I think the forum now allows 2480 px on the longest side, and without having been announced anywhere, the previews seem to have increased to 2184 px. So clicking on the previews for sharper images is no longer as necessary as before.

here's another one (still trying to create an image meeting the forum size requirements)

Oh and I shot this on my Leica CL because for the time being it's the only color digital Leica I've got. Waiting for the M11V!

I used to say that my 2 favorite lenses were the 35/1.4 steel rim reissue and the cron 50/2 rigid.

Now my favorite is the 50 pre-asph v3!!!

Looking forward to getting a digital M color cam. I was going to get the M10R, but am intrigued with the rumored M11V. If it does manual EVF focus as well as my CL, I'll be in Leica heaven.

Same here.. my lux reissue SR always in my bag with the noct 1.2 .. i used to run on rigid prior to that.. and now the lux v3 took over the reign
