Question about Leica R Rear Lens Caps

The lens that I currently have for my Leicaflex SL2 is the 35-70 F/3.5 Vario Elmar. The rear cap is on it is marked "14162J" on the inside

I have another rear cap (OEM Leica) new in the box marked 14162 but no "J"

It fits, a little 'fiddly' to put on and it's a tight fit. Are these the same, and if so, do you think that it is just a matter or loosening up?

Strange that the "J" model seems to fit better. Maybe it is just worn a bit and goes on easier?

I've got a first version 135/2.8 R 3 cam (from 1966 I think) which I got cheap a while ago. That one is marked 14162J. All my other caps are 14162. All seem to fit OK. So maybe it's just an age related variant?

Some of mine just have large  'LR' letters - presumably non-original?  Others are 14162.

I got mine through ebay, certainly from the nth party.  They are dirt ceap and fit very well.
