paul.bridges.3388 Posted January 23, 2021 Share #1  Posted January 23, 2021 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Had fun with this cute ‘70s 50mm on my old A7. Now intrigued to find a 42-L adapter listed...and assuming I can fix on my SL2-S. Anyone tried similar? I guess most folks are having too much fun with legacy M-glass for such frivolity? Fgcm Posted January 23, 2021 Share #3  Posted January 23, 2021 (edited) Sometimes I use old lenses on the M10 with the Visoflex. Once I tried a couple of old Konica lenses from the seventies when I had and Autoreflex T. A nice way to play around with the camera in a gray winter afternoon 😉 I think you can find many adapters to the M mount and than you stack the adapter onto the M-L adapter.   Edited January 23, 2021 by Fgcm

That never occurred to me. Do the M-adapters facilitate better transfer of data/camera control, I wonder? This is the adapter that I’ve ordered from Amazon. Urth is new to me. Hope I don’t wreck the mount. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B088C2XTC3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_wSbdGbRWZ6PHM Welcome, dear visitor! farnz Posted January 23, 2021 Share #5  Posted January 23, 2021 I've used quite a number of 'vintage' lenses on my SL and SL2-S including a Zeiss 58/2 Biotar, a Minolta 85/2 Vari-Soft, a 58/2 Helios 44-2, a Nippon Kogaku 50/1.4 Tokyo, a 21/35 Dual Hexanon-M, a Contax 80-200 Vario-Sonnar, a (Contax) Carl Zeiss Jena 50/2 Sonnar, a Rollei 40/2.8 Sonnar HFT and I'm expecting delivery of a 85/1.5 Helios-40 in a couple of days. I typically use the Leica L to M adaptor, Leica M to R adaptor, and whatever other adaptor is required.  For instance, for M42 lenses I use a Kood M42-L/M* and for the Vario-Sonnar that's in Contax/Yashica mount a (no brand) C/Y-M/L adaptor from that online auction site.  (*I think L/M means 'Leica M'.) The SL line with it's L-mount is probably one of the best cameras for vintage lens compatibility and there are very few vintage lenses that cause a problem.  Praktica lenses appear to present a problem but other than that not too many others. Per P. Posted January 23, 2021 Share #9  Posted January 23, 2021 I have played with Olympus Zuiko lenses for the OM SLRs. And a really good Zeiss 80-200 built for Contax-Yashica. All with Novoflex L-Mount adapters. Good fun.
