Hello, I remember coming across an information mentioning that the Leica lens Noctilux-M 1:0,95/50 MM ASPH opens even wider than f/0,95 and that for some reason they decided to market it as  f/0,95. I do not recall if it was in an interview, a review, an article, or a video. I did some research but was not able to retrieve the source of that information. I may be wrong, but if anyone else heard or read about it, could you please send me the link to the information? Thanks a lot in advance!

I have no specific information on this lens, but in general there are many lenses where the aperture opens beyond the widest stop mechanically. It never increases the maximum light transmission though, as the light flow is restricted by the diameter of the lens elements.

Or the diameter of the lens barrel.

Yes - that should be about the same, otherwise the lens would be a bit rattly

Not entirely.

Draw in the light rays They are constricted by the lens element/mount interface.. The barrel holds the optical cell, but does not interfere with the light. The rear exit, if too narrow, will cause vignetting, but no f-stop shift.
