He's a gem.  And replaced the spark plug, cleaned the filter.  Probably refused all help from daughters, and  others, so he could still be useful.

...

You nailed it David, my other neighbor has a Bobcat loader and says that John has refused his offers to plow  his drive.

Here's my neighbor, Bob, out shoveling his neighbor's sidewalk after clearing his own sidewalk and driveway. He's 86 in this photo.

Awesome. A good example to set. I do enjoy shoveling the driveway, and hope to for many more years.

It's great exercise. Just be sure not to do it after being sedentary the rest of the time. Some of our snowfalls here are appropriately called, "heart attack snowfalls."

You’re absolutely right. I live in Winnipeg where there is lots of snow. I’m a retired physician and preached exercise to my patients for 40 years. I’m active with X-Country skiing, cycling and walking. I also swam 4 km 3x/wk before COVID. It’s outdoor activities for now. 😃

Well, I'd say off anybody can handle snow shoveling, you can. You're a good role model for your patients.

A sad update on this great neighbor. Two days ago he suffered a massive stroke and will soon be gone. He's in palliative care. The entire neighborhood will miss this guy.
