Just started into this Leica world and this forum is very helpful. My first post...

I've started on an M240 and a 40 Cron. I'm returning the M240 because I wanted the ISO dial and higher ISO of the M10, arriving today...After some family holidays photography, I like the results of the combo (M240 and 40 Cron) so far. I'm usually hitting focus, some good resolution, I like the bokeh most of the time.

Sometimes, though, I'd like 1.4 over 2. I love the tiny size of the 40. I'm concerned about glow and softness of the 35 1.4 pre-asph. How does its rendering compare to the 40 Cron?

Thank you!

Similar rendering at f/2 and on but very different at f/1.4 :D. More seriously the 35/1.4 has a bit more glow (halos around highlights) at f/2 but it flares more than the 40/2. Main difference, the 35/1.4 can only focus at 1m vs 0.8m for the 40/2. The latter is smaller and lighter too. Welcome to the forum BTW :).
