vikasmg Posted December 18, 2020 Share #1 Â Posted December 18, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I noticed yesterday that my sensor is in serious need of cleaning, going by the spots on some recent pictures. Any opinions on a good cleaning method/solution would be really appreciated. Â

I've used the wet cleaning  method on all of my digital cameras since the M8 with no issues. IBIS does however require an added level of caution in terms of not applying too much pressure on the sensor, which is why the adhesive method makes me nervous. I won't try it, the thought of manipulating a sticky swab on a moving sensor makes me very apprehensive.....
BlackDoc Posted December 19, 2020 Share #5  Posted December 19, 2020 My workflow: with SL-2 i nearly have stopped wet cleaning (i have used this one (german) : https://green-clean.at/produkt/lens-cleaner-wet-dry-reinigungstuecher/) und espacially stopped using the pentax lolly (ADHAESIVE CLEANING !!!). Unfortunately the SL-II does have a lot more of dust than the SL-I. Most of the times i´m turning off the shake reduction, start breathing carefully on the sensor and use one of the dry swaps to collect/ wipe  the dust  like in the kitchen.
RBB Posted December 19, 2020 Share #6 Â Posted December 19, 2020 I also noticed that the sensor of the SL2 collects a lot more dust then other camera's I have used. I use the wet cleaning, why did you stop the wet cleaning?
SrMi Posted December 19, 2020 Share #7 Â Posted December 19, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica SL2 does not have ultrasonic (sensor vibration) cleaning like SL. This may affect the the amount of dust that needs to be cleaned manually.

It is easy to dislodge dry dust particles, but it is hard to remove fluids (typically requires wet-cleaning if it happens).
