If you are asking me, yes and no. Yes, I have a Gigapan toy but rarely use it. I simply don't like the result, not to mention the set-up. But no, it's definitely not for travel light. I don't even like switching lens on the go. That's why I prefer two cameras to two lenses. In terms of panorama. stitching multi-shots or panning in camera would do it, but they are not the same as a one-shot wide angle.
