elansprint72 Posted August 22, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Huw, Taken from the "tourist enclosure", this layered stack looks extremely top-heavy. Fabulous area for geologists. V-Lux1
Advertisement Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here Cliffs of Moher, for Huw. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
huwge Posted August 22, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 22, 2007 Pete - I can't believe the weather!!! We got absolutely soaked walking down from the cliffs to Doolin and then almost got a sun burn sitting watching the waves before heading back to Fisherstreet for a pint (or two). The most overwhelming thing for me is the contrast between blue and green. The pictures sometimes look oversaturated, but they really are that rich in reality. The view from the ferry to Aran probably gives the best view, on a good day and I will definitely try this next time - weather permitting.

gverdon Posted August 22, 2007 Share #7 Posted August 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pete, nice place indeed. Could I assume that the 420mm equivalent lens is an anti-vertigo device? Or could I ask for an another great V-Lux feature: a macro of the rock structure? Michael-IIIf Posted August 22, 2007 Share #8 Posted August 22, 2007 Huw, I enjoyed your Flickr album. The last time I was in Kilronan was 1969 and it doesn't look like it's changed one bit. Though I guess they have electricity now. If you liked McCanns (in Doolin) you must find/borrow/download this Christy track Christy Moore - The Official Website - news, gigs, christy chat, new releases, audio and video Michael
huwge Posted August 22, 2007 Share #9 Posted August 22, 2007 Michael - yes, they have electricity but I am not sure it is a good thing. Still, the craic at Tigh Fitz on Saturday night, after most of the tourists had gone home, was mighty. Huw
elansprint72 Posted August 22, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted August 22, 2007 Huw, On this day our intention was to catch the ferry to the Aran isles; when we got to the dock it was like a monsoon and the sea was a raging black fury. We decided to drive up the coast to see what we could find- best decision we've taken in a while. Gerald- I've seen some good stuff from the V-Lux on macro, still waiting for you to blow us all away with your new toy
