How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Files” and s

Trying to see if my SL2 can show the tonal subtlety that I was noticing in some recent review articles on the next generation of 100 MPx digital MF cameras:

The answer seems to be yes, but the effect is most striking when the subject offers interesting tonality (instead of dramatic color contrasts), and requires exposure to protect the highlights.

Musicians in a museum. The museum/gallery is a house and art collection created by a husband & wife over several decades from the 30s, now displayed in situ in their house (bequeathed to a trust). It puts on weekly musical performances; these shots were taken to publicise the programme, using an enthusiastic (and talented) student wind quintet. The main problem is avoiding breaking any of the immensely valuable and exposed objets d'art, and agreeing with the curator which chairs can be sat in and which ones moved.

A lot of the shots were taken with flash in the modern recital room, but the chance to use the rest of the older house was too good to miss. These were all taken with natural light.
SL2-S and 24-90SL.
