A cliche shot of DuPont Center Metro Station on the Red Line in Washington, DC.  I used Summilux 21mm with an L/M adapter and processed on Silver Efex. I have found the SL2S file very amenable to monochrome conversion.  Perhaps you would like to compare it with a similar shot taken with an M10R with Super Elmar 21mm, here.  Please click on the image for a higher resolution.  Regards.

I agree.  The SL2-S has surprised me with its color-b&w conversion capabilities.  I knew the Q2 and especially the Q3 also do an excellent job in that regard.  So much so, I sold my Q2 Monochrom.

Manual_Focus, Thank you for the feedback.  You are certainly much more at ease with the SL2-S to decide on selling your Q2M.  I am new to the SL2-S and so far, it is unlikely that I will let the Q2M go soon-- please see here and here.  I find the Q2M supreme in terms of function and form.  The amenability of SL2-S files for monochrome conversion, however, is an interesting topic and I do seek your permission to start a new thread away from the photo-only rule of this wonderful thread.**  Once more, thank you.  Regards.

** The new thread is now here.

Yes, it was difficult to let my Q2M go, but I am not a collector and needed the money to save for the Q3 which I will use mostly for B&W.  In the interim I will continue to use the SL2-S especially in low light.  I don't print for others, but I have mounted prints shot with the Q2M and have no doubt about it being a great camera.  But I shoot color too, and I am willing to compromise in the small differences in quality over the ability to edit color images.

The experimentation with the newly acquired SL2-S is enjoyable; particularly when it is coupled with using prime focal lengths that the L mount does not yet provide, e.g., 24mm and 21mm.   At this point, I am trying to subjectively judge if the SL2-S color scheme is really that pleasant; I think it is, but you are the judge.  During an evening walk in Washington, DC, I took this shot using Summilux 24mm with an L/M adapter at f3.4 and ISO 12,500.  The shot is unedited.  Please click on the image for a higher resolution.  Regards.
