Advertisement Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Hi nwphil, Take a look here Leica Glass Screen Protector. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ianforber Posted December 8, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 8, 2020 No experience of the Leica version but I use the Expert Shield version, which I got off Amazon but they also have their own website. Touch screen works fine, easy to apply and I haven’t noticed any degradation in the quality of the image (but then again I hardly ever view images on the rear screen) https://www.expertshielduk.com/Leica_Q2_GLASS
PhotoCruiser Posted December 8, 2020 Share #3 Posted December 8, 2020 I have a original Leica screen protector, but i am not sure if its glass or plastic. However, glass protectors are ways superior than plastic ones, at least on cell phones Chris

The remote operation it's nice but cumbersome - I want to shoot from the camera and then see if something it's not quite right and get another as shot, seeing at home of waste battery trying to get an idea in the lcd. it's more about touch functionality that I am concerned. With the mask wearing, the screen gets fogged up quite easy, and ends gets smeared a bit - I am more of t-shirt edge wipe-off than pull out the proper piece of cloth for such event Thanks
mikegml Posted December 8, 2020 Share #6 Posted December 8, 2020 I have one of these on mine which was on the camera when bought used. I don't even know it's there, everything works just fine. Can you imagine Leica getting that wrong?
Giguchan Posted December 10, 2020 Share #7 Posted December 10, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had the Salesman install the Screen protector Before my Q2 left the showroom. I will have the salesman install the same Screen protector on my Q2M when i get it this weekend. Same goes for my D850. You might say i believe in them. When i had the Q2 installed he actually screwed it up- or it wasn't to his satisfaction. He succeeded the 2nd time and i have never been happier. I think the Package says "M10" but it can go on the Q2 series. I also have the ADM 1/2 case which also provides extra protection of leather. I also can also confirm that the touch screen performs as it should.
Craig Clark Posted December 11, 2020 Share #8 Posted December 11, 2020 I had the sales person at Leica DC install one on my Q2M when I bought it....not sure its really necessary but I figured if I was dropping 6 grand on the camera i may as well get the screen protector. That being said mine has a bubble in it thats bothering me. I realize its cosmetic but its there looking me in the face every time I look at the LCD. Apparently theyre having trouble getting them in stock now - theyve said they will replace it at no cost they just havent been able to get another one. Touch screen functionality seem to be unaffected by the protector.

Its weird, this bubble is right at the lower left corner and no matter what I do I cant smooth it out or get it to stick right there....its fine for now but when they get more in I will definitely have them replace it. tjz Posted December 11, 2020 Share #11 Posted December 11, 2020 ... if they have to replace it with a new one and can not lift it off and reapply it; in any case i am confident they will be happy to help competently.
Giguchan Posted December 12, 2020 Share #12 Posted December 12, 2020 My Installer had to do it twice to get it done properly.. I wandered around the shop not to make him nervous. I guess lumbering over him was no help. I'll have it shortly!

It works well, but i barely never use touchscreen, but a glass protector would protect better for hard hits or scratches directly on the display. I guess i will get the new (Art.Nbr 19623) one! huwm Posted December 13, 2020 Share #14 Posted December 13, 2020 i got a cheap one from ali express that came with a protector for the evf too i read, on here?, that it would disable the eye detect but thought i'd give it a go anyway eye detect still works and i feel much happier about giving it a clean with my shirt tail, result managed not to get any bubbles too

PhotoCruiser Posted December 26, 2020 Share #19 Posted December 26, 2020 vor 9 Stunden schrieb Donzo98: Are the Leica ones glass or a film?? It seems to be a mix of glass and film. Glass protectors protect better from impacts and hard scratches and the price is definitively not expensive, so i recommend it over the old film-only Leico protector.
