stevegaskin Posted November 30, 2020 Share #1  Posted November 30, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm looking to 'play around' with some macro photography. Nothing serious at this stage so don't want to spend much.  I have a Novoflex R-SL adaptor which I use with a 50mm Summicron R I have and it works fine. Has anyone any thoughts on both the Elmarit-R f2.8 60mm and the Elmar-R f4 100mm, both of which seem to be reasonably priced on eBay. Any pitfalls to look out for and most importantly, will that work with the SL using manual and Focus Peaking?  Many thanks
Advertisement Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Hi stevegaskin, Take a look here Low cost macro. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jankap Posted November 30, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted November 30, 2020 (edited) I use an Elpro VIb (16532) with my Summicron R 50mm. This combination works fine, even on a Sony camera. Of course stays the question, where macrophotography ends and microphotography begins. Edited November 30, 2020 by jankap
isleofgough Posted December 1, 2020 Share #3  Posted December 1, 2020 (edited) I use a zeiss 100mm macro for Nikon with an adapter and focus peaking works great, so I assume it will on the lenses you mention. Manual focus lenses are an asset as they make for precise focusing to use with focus stacking in photoshop. Welcome, dear visitor! wjdrijfhout Posted December 1, 2020 Share #4  Posted December 1, 2020 You may also want to check out the Laowa 100mm macro. I use it with the SL2 and it works very well. Very sharp, no chromatic aberration and Leica-like build quality. Also it has a 2:1 magnification range, which is unlike most other macro lenses and quite addictive to play with. Especially if you’re looking for a a low cost option, this is a lot of value for your money.
