The smooth tonal range this camera offers is outstanding.  You will soon be addicted to its performance.  Nicely done.

TEST - sorry for the double posting. It seems my pics are coming out a bit too dark on this website. Yes, I like it a bit more "noire" but might be the uploading engine and then individual settings in viewer's monitors.

I only can control so much :)

so, testing a few to see if they indeed come a bit lighter overall. Feedback welcome

Thanks

Phil

ps: they are here too:

Yup.  The 2nd set are  less muddy looking to my eye.   In the 1st photo of the 1st set the brightest point I could find using the Digital Color Meter on my iMac was 195/195/195.  The same point in the same image from the second set reads as 235/235/235.  My iMac is calibrated for 120 cd/m2.

Thanks for the feedback

as I said, I do have a strong bias to darker tones, but even comparing the posted image against the one in LR, they do show indeed darker here.
I have to change my settings in the export interface for sure :), or just create a subset of virtual copies

+1

I actually prefer the first 'darker" set. But I bet 90.87% of LUF users prefer the second one... Don't be afraid to embrace the dark side

In my eyes much better! I think there's a difference between exposure overall and getting a range of tones from light to dark - witness Ansel Adams. I happen to like contrast and drama in images, and particularly admire the work of @francipaq on the Q/Q2 forum creating that. Caveat: I like a lot of other people's work too, but reference one poster's work in the context of this conversation.

Thanks for the feedback and reference - indeed he has some beautiful images.

I find that the Q2M shines the best in foggy days - so, this was very much experimenting with a darker orange filter always on.  At least with digital is cheap to experiment and try again :)
