Newer 6 bit coded lenses on M8

Hi guys, I think I know the answer, but will a post-late firmware update Leica lens operate as "unrecognised" on the M8/8.2? I'm thinking specifically of the 28mm Summaron, if that makes any difference. I fear it may exhibit oddly coloured corners for example?

It should not given that corners are cropped by M8/M8.2 cameras but i have no experience with this lens sorry. Now you may wish to disguise the 28/5.6 (001011) as 28/2.8 v3 (000011) by simply whitening the third coding pit possibly. Just a stupid idea...

I have the same problem. My 2,4/75 is not recognized, because the last firmware is from 2014. I have asked at Leica Customer Service yesterday, if i should code it as 2,5/75. They denied.

It works good and so I ll use it unrecognized (though coded for later M-Cams).

Yeah the longer lenses aren't a problem, 35 and wider can be though. I guess I'll go with post-processing correction if it's a significant issue.
