Bald Eagle

Wonderful shot, but how the hell did you get close enough to do this with a 90???

Thanks guys for your comments ...... the eagle and deer was shot at an ecology center on the West end of the island of Montreal near Ste-Anne de Bellevue.

The Mule Deer was also taken with the AA Summicron ELCAN F2 lens......

Jacques,

Great shot. It must be fun, and rewarding, to express your skills and talent through that beautiful piece of equipment. Sorry it took me so long to comment.....Al

Al....... your right ..... I have had many cameras in my career as photographer.......the difference with the M8 from all others is that I carry it everywhere I go...... it is small, just the right weight and balance with the handle attached at all times. I do enjoy my first time "M" and do not plan to go back to any DSLR. Thanks for commenting on this shot!

but the eagle is an exceptional capture

I hate to sound incredulous, but the DOF you got with the 90 cron shot wide open is remarkable

the eyes are tack sharp as are the feathers on the bird's chest ...the size of the subject helps ...I imagine you were a few feet from this bird (a very confident critter to allow you to get so close)

fine bokeh as is to be expected from this combination

I think I took at least 7 to 10 shots at F2 before I got this one right on...... this is one reason I sold this lens this week to replace with the AA Summicron 75 F2 lens it is easier to focus up close. I was about 6 to 8 feet away...... remember I was in an ecology center were there is always visitors to this site. Thanks for your comment Artichoke.....
