tobey bilek Posted November 9, 2020 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2020 That leaves out most everything. I have seen Leica techs moisten/dampen a cloth with alcohol. Not so much it can run inside. When I clean a gun, I put solvent on a small cloth and wrap it around an apporiate object to get into corners. On an M, that would be around shutter dial and advance lever. Toothpick or tweezers bent at the end are ok. Use enough layers so metal will not scratch. Wood is best.

I have plenty of them. And can get them at my local Costco. I am sure all other mass merchandisers carry them.

Walmart, Costco, drug stores. Edited November 9, 2020 by jdlaing

a.noctilux Posted May 5, 2021 Share #9 Posted May 5, 2021 Used toothbrush can be handy to clean dusty corners, before blowing, then wipe. Miracle longlast clean at last, when I use a tiny dab of 'Pliz Fée du Logis' borrowed from my wife's panoply.
NigelG Posted May 5, 2021 Share #10 Posted May 5, 2021 For the dusty bit around the dial/hotshot I’ve used (very carefully) a squishy thing called “cyber clean” I think - bright yellow v.lightly sticky “blob”.
