lct Posted October 8, 2020 Share #3  Posted October 8, 2020 (edited) I have both CV 35/2 and 35/1.4 SC v2. Different beasts. The 35/2 is a bit smaller and sharper with more CA, less distortion and a bit busier bokeh. The 35/1.4 SC v2 is a modern version of the Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph with more sharpness, less flare, less coma and a bit of "glow" (halos around highlights) but also more distortion. The later is easy to adjust in PP of by 6-bit coding if your camera corrects for distortion. Minimum focus distance is 0.58m on the CV 35/2 and 0.7m on the CV 35/1.4. As far as handling is concerned, the 35/1.4 feels like a Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph and the 35/2 like a CV 21/3.5 with the same focus stick and rather illisible DoF markings. astrostl Posted October 8, 2020 Share #5  Posted October 8, 2020 I'd take the 35/1.7 Ultron 🤷‍♂️
Ko.Fe. Posted October 8, 2020 Share #6  Posted October 8, 2020 Both lenses are tiny. I like Nokton's classic focus tab. One finger is sufficient to drive it fast  . I don't use coding on the lens. I use lens selection in the camera to correct Nokton 35 1.4 II distortions. Welcome, dear visitor! JimmyCheng Posted October 9, 2020 Share #8  Posted October 9, 2020 one stop of light is more important imo (given they are pretty much the same size). I have not used the Ultron, but personally I always have the Nokton in a special place even though I've got both the summilux FLE and summicron v4.
lct Posted October 9, 2020 Share #9  Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) The Ultron 35/2 asph is a modern lens with similar rendition as the Summicron 35/2 asph. CosmoM3 Posted October 9, 2020 Share #11  Posted October 9, 2020 If you’re using an M10 - dont base your decision on “which gathers more light” as the M10’s high ISO capabilities make this a moot point. If you’re going for the bokeh and other artistic abilities, then this is a better question.
lct Posted October 9, 2020 Share #12  Posted October 9, 2020 I have no experience with the CV 35/1.4 MC v2, only the SC version, but it is much sharper than my Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph at f/1.4, with less flare, less coma but also more distortion. Funny thing it has a bit of "glow" so it is a modern Lux pre-asph so to speak with less acutance than asph lenses though (digital CL, CV 35/1.4 SV v2, f/1.4). Welcome, dear visitor! Almost to sharp (for me, of course). Very modern. But the OoFB is very classical to me. Not so creamy, a bit nervous. Like the cron. So this is more comparable to the ASPH crons than the v4, I suppose? Sure the Ultron 35/2 asph is closer to the Summicron 35/2 asph IQ wise. Generally, if you're after the sharper lens, you may wish to look for the word "asph" in their name. Otherwise, as far as current CV lenses are concerned, "classic" is the way to go.
