Agree about the kit carried by some of those guys, there were folks taking "in your face" close-ups with lenses that were half a metre long. I've been shooting racing for 30+ years and never, ever, needed anything more than the 420mm that the FZ-30 gives me. OK you can get better image quality but at what price and at what inconvenience?
