I am using a Leitz Wetzlar Summicron-C 1:2/40 on my CL.  Currently I have the CL set to auto lens profile.  There is no built in profile for the Summicron-C would I get better results with one of the 35 or 50 profiles that are under the M option?  The attached image is one captured with the auto lens profile.

The profiles make virtually nil difference. However, the closest match (if any) should  be the Summicron 35 version 3 or 4. I shoot it as such and have never felt any need to do otherwise.

Profiles can make a difference in that most of them correct for distortion on the CL. I would avoid the 35/2 asph profile with the 40/2 because it corrects for pincushion whilst the 40/2 has a (slight) barrel distortion. Closer distortion correction is that of pre-asph 35/2 lenses referred to by jaap but it crops pics a bit. I prefer no correction at all personally i.e. no lens profile or that of the 35/1.4 pre-asph which does not correct for distortion and does not crop either. Crops of 35/2 pre-asph profile are not huge though and can be recovered though removing opcodes with DNG Cleaner or same.

Distortion correction will always crop lightly; not that it matters - just frame slightly loose. I do so anyway to give a bit of leeway to my compositional shortcomings. And if everything  fails - there is always content aware crop
