Eldad Posted July 31, 2020 Share #1 Â Posted July 31, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi There, I just got my SL2 today, very excited to be back with Leica after a 2 year break. I have a 128gb Lexar UHS-ii 1000x 150 MB/s, a card I had around and was hoping was enough for the SL2. writing takes a couple of seconds but when I press the Play button, the red light stay up for over 30-60 seconds and I can't do anything with the camera. Is my card faulty or is it camera settings I need to change? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. (I don't have another card at the moment o test with)

jaapv Posted July 31, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted July 31, 2020 Did your card come from another camera? Did you format the card in the camera? Format before use. If that doesn't help, try another card.
Eldad Posted July 31, 2020 Author Share #3 Â Posted July 31, 2020 Yes, it came from another camera but the first thing I did was a format. I thought this card is sufficient for the SL2
jaapv Posted July 31, 2020 Share #4 Â Posted July 31, 2020 It certainly is. But that doesn't prevent it from being defective. Buy a new card.
Boojay Posted July 31, 2020 Share #5  Posted July 31, 2020 (edited) Just wondering what you have your storage options set to, and if you are using one or two cards.... may be nothing to do with it, or something! As Jaapv says, maybe try another card.  I have Lexar (same spec) 32 GB in slot 1 on mine and a much older Sandisc  32GB 90 MB/s sec in slot 2 (just because yet again I've lost an SD card somewhere) - all works fine with DNG to 1 and jpeg to 2.  Maybe just try reset and reformat.  Edited July 31, 2020 by Boojay
Eldad Posted July 31, 2020 Author Share #6 Â Posted July 31, 2020 Thank you, The storage setting are on: DNG + JPG on SD1 +SD2 (standard). no SD in slot 2 Would that affect reading from the card? I'll get another card over the weekend to test
Photoworks Posted July 31, 2020 Share #7 Â Posted July 31, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) If the camera is still saving images to the card the preview will take long. The card is fast enough for photos. I use a software on my Mac to format SD cards called "SDÂ card formatter" 2 card is not necessary, and will not work in the Fotos app
Eldad Posted July 31, 2020 Author Share #8  Posted July 31, 2020 Thank you @Photoworks, I have tried the SD Formatter (took the long format option) and it seems to work now! Happy days
