que_lo_kev Posted July 28, 2020 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I have recently purchased a Leica m6. I developed my first roll yesterday and there is a blemish on all four corners. This issue occurs on every single frame. I am not sure if it is a light leak issue or a developing issues. I am leaning more towards a light leak issue since it happens on every single frame at the same location. I called the Leica Store but they can't help me at the moment due to Covid 19. Pyrogallol Posted July 29, 2020 Share #5 Posted July 29, 2020 (edited) Do the marks extend outside the frame area on the negatives? They look a bit odd. Were you using any lenshood that might have generated light reflections? if its on every negative it might be light leaking from somewhere, perhaps the back door, strange that it’s in all four corners. i don’t think it is a developing problem. 250swb Posted July 29, 2020 Share #6 Posted July 29, 2020 The leak seems to be coming from the rear door (the flare is orange, so coming through the film base). The rear door of the M6 should only have one foam/rubber seal along the top edge, it's only visible if you unclip the rear door. Often if this seal fails people not only replace the top seal but also add seals around the rest of the door thinking they are missing, it then causes the rear door to sit too far away from its baffle light trap. So check to see if you have any rubber or foam seals around the other three sides of the door, this could be causing the problem. 2
