I cannot image that resetting the frame counter would be an easy thing to do--otherwise, Leica would open the door to people selling camera bodies with bogus actuations counts, if I understand correctly. Apparently, digital cameras, or at least the digital Leica camera bodies, have shutters that need repair/replacement every so-many thousands or so "actuations."

You can reset the numbering of the images on the card, though. Just take an image, alter the number/letter in the computer and reinsert the SD card with the altered number. The camera will start counting at the new number.

Keeping in mind the shutter actuations and image capture count are two whole different things.
