The example is taken at f8, the difference to the zoom will be simply non-existant. So why should this be a motivation for buying? Actually I think it is a standard shot in this place. I cannot really see a reason to call it a "master shot", but anyway. Yes, I agree it would be nice if the three lenses came already this year ....

The 28mm has a beautiful rendering, but its too close in focal length to the amazing 35mm.

I'm waiting for the 21mm to go with my 35/75mm.

Peter Karbe, two or three interviews back, was careful to slip in the hint that only the 28 SL SX would be shipping this year and the 21 and 24 will wait for 2021 to appear.  So GAS sufferers should get their wait list positions for the 28 nailed down now, or suffer for an extra year.

The 24mm Elmar is a 2013 lens. I’ve always found it to offer stunning performance. But perhaps we are talking about different lenses.

I've a feeling that many who really wanted a 28mm will have just bought the Q2. So I'm not convinced the demand will be as high for the 28 as it has been for the 35mm. I think the 21mm will be the lens in higher demand as it offers features not found anywhere else in their product portfolio for this focal length. In fact, I always thought they should have made a 21mm Summicron for the M product line. The current SEM is just too slow.

Already got a 28 Summaron M

I have a 28 M Summilux and a 21 M SEM already.  Both of those can be used on an L-mount easily and make good use of focusing with EVF.  So I'm not holding my breath for either 28 or 21.  However, my prized 24 M Elmarit-asph is not sharp enough to use on the SL2 (but it renders nicely on an M).   So that's the one that I am most interested in.
