MP Metering problem

hi 

I bought a used MP in new condition, metering was fine and images came well exposed, but after changing the batteries I noticed that the meter was way off. after search about it I noticed that I shouldn't use alkaline batteries, so I switch to lithium I saw improvement, but still far away from my M9 and iPhone app meter. Sometimes its really bad, my M9 showing 1/30 some the iPhone meter but the MP I go the slowest shutter and still showing under exposed .

I noticed that some people having the same issue and some said sending it to Leica didn't help . I cleaned the contacts , and the golden pins in the back, spin the ISO dial both sides, didn't help also.

any advice, I am now thinking about send it to my dealer

(where I live in UAE developing film are rare and the one in my city is very bad so I send them to Spain and USA lol (Spain came really nice will stick with them), so usually after having 4-5 rolls ready I send them. till now I didn't try after the problem happen, and checking the results will take long time)

If you set the iso to 200 and go outside in the bright sunshine and set the aperture to f16, what shutter speed is your camera telling you to use when pointing at a brightly lit sunshiney scene?

In normal use it will show the metering pattern of your MP is different from your M9 or iPhone app, so each will read from more or less of the scene in front of you. It doesn't take much for a shadow that one is reading but is outside the viewing angle of the others meter to give apparently different readings.  Test each of them using the same ISO and aperture against the same mid tone wall with no detail on it. You may still have a fault, but sometimes it's just about understanding the meter and what it is reading.

I own a MP and a MM9 the readings I get from both of them in the same scene are preaty much the same .
