Yes, therefore you should always separate bananas, plums and peaches from apples, even when cooled in the fridge.
Oranges, especially those with chemically treated peels, are also aggressive towards apples.

Thanks everyone for the constructive  information. I found it an interesting subject to shoot during this home isolation period, but my wife didn’t agree with me and decided a garbage can would be  a more appropriate place for my poor but attractive  still life subject. 😳🤨
