Apart from The Notorious Wandering Focal Point (shortly to become a street rapper in its spare time) I have two other pet irritations; one likely is an easy fix, the other not so much.

1) The option to reverse the direction of the wheels. My preference would be anti-clockwise would lead to wider apertures and lower numbers on one wheel (the opposite of what we have today) and doing the same reverse on the right wheel would lead to underexpose (again the opposite of today). I know some people are happy with the way it is but others would prefer the convention reversed.

2) Red Dot: currently when you switch the camera off you see the red dot. To me the opposite makes more sense. When something is “on” you tend to see an indicator of some kind confirming this state. Would Leica ever reverse this convention? I suspect not but if you don’t ask the answer is always no.

Does anyone else feel the same about reversing these conventions?

To be honest, I had to look just now to see the red dot... never noticed it before. I've always just flicked the switch and the camera turned on, flicked it the other way and the camera turned off. What was inscribed on the top plate I had no idea. :)

My Olympus cameras have the option to reverse the operation of the control dials. I tried it once upon a time. It didn't make any difference to me, because after five minutes in use, they just worked fine for me whichever way it was they were configured. But with all 'soft' controls, such an option should be pretty easy to implement, why not if it doesn't cause problems or complicate the UI too much?

Neither do i sorry. May i ask if you rotate the left wheel with your index finger? Just curious.

Thumb for both wheels. I have a handgrip fitted to the camera which might make a difference as to which digit to use.
