It does not say what the update includes.
jrp Posted April 28, 2020 Share #3  Posted April 28, 2020 This seems a bit mysterious  Quote This instruction describes the update process if you are using a Leica CL to update the firmware of your Leica SL lens or if you are using a Leica SL to update the firmware of your Leica TL lens. SL-lens firmware updates are already included in the SL-camera firmware as well as TL-lens firmware updates are included in the CL- and TL-camera firmware.
scott kirkpatrick Posted April 29, 2020 Share #4  Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) None of this answers the question of for which lenses, SL or TL, there are firmware updates. You would have to put the firmware update file on your SD card, start the camera with a lens sinstalled, and see if anything happens. There have been lens firmware updates in the past, for the zooms, I think. I opened the firmware update in a text editor. It doesn't seem to be encrypted, but the only text labels indicated that the update is for the 24-90 SL zoom at present. No other names appear. LEGEND Posted April 29, 2020 Share #5  Posted April 29, 2020 I tried to update lens firmware for my 24-90 SL but the camera, my SL2, stated that the update file is same version as current version. I already have this lens firmware for 24-90 SL installed before. It is lens firmware 1.2 from the last FW update... Nikola
jplomley Posted April 30, 2020 Share #6 Â Posted April 30, 2020 Perhaps for the 28 Cron APO L lens designated to arrive soon-ish?
RMF Posted April 30, 2020 Share #7  Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) It appears that it’s the same lens update 1.2 which was included in the most recent camera firmware update. Release notes (instructions) should be more concise on what lens firmware 1.2 includes. I have a 24-90, a 90-280, and a 50sl Cron and didn’t see any changes. Exodies Posted May 1, 2020 Share #8 Â Posted May 1, 2020 The notes are clear enough: This instruction describes the update process if you are using a Leica CL to update the firmware of your Leica SL lens or if you are using a Leica SL to update the firmware of your Leica TL lens.SL-lens firmware updates are already included in the SL-camera firmware as well as TL-lens firmware updates are included in the CL- and TL-camera firmware.
