Advertisement Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Hi Jamie Roberts, Take a look here Half forgotten. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
martinop Posted August 11, 2007 Share #2 Posted August 11, 2007 Like the reference / relationship between the title and the photo. Nicely seen and shot.
samwells Posted August 11, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 11, 2007 That's very nice...love the way it's 70 percent suggestion and only 30 percent seen...toning works well, too. Thanks for sharing. cheers: Sam
spylaw4 Posted August 12, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 12, 2007 Excellent photo - wonderfully dark and brooding - great that it leaves a lot to one's imagination.
MrEd Posted August 12, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 12, 2007 Very good one. I like it. Did you get any samples? . Thanks for sharing. Ed. .
Jamie Roberts Posted August 13, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted August 13, 2007 Thanks, everyone, for your comments! I appreciate you taking the time to post. @ Ed--yes, though the distillery in the Distillery District is long gone, there is a very good micro-brewery there now Samples I most certainly had, after shooting, of course
stuny Posted August 15, 2007 Share #7 Posted August 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Jamie - Stunning, subtle, expert. BTW: Lovely website. Who is the singer?
Guest Motivfindender Posted August 15, 2007 Share #8 Posted August 15, 2007 As already said before - it is excellent... Hitchcock-like ( 30% seen and 70% suggestion/suspicion) Dirk
carylwithay Posted August 16, 2007 Share #9 Posted August 16, 2007 I really like the lighting here and the use of negative space. Caryl
Jamie Roberts Posted August 16, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted August 16, 2007 @ Stuart--thanks for your remarks on the shot, and on my website (which still isn't done yet!) I love the song on it too... though I'm not sure it's hitting my market. So thank-you for the feedback!! I do love it though, it's called "Unconditionally" and it's by J'nae Fincannon (I think--it's hard to find her last name). http://www.jnaemusic.com/ She has a great voice, no? And she writes! I licensed it for Web use from Triple Scoop Music; they have a special arrangement to licence Web presentations, slide shows and such, because otherwise it's almost impossible to licence music (and I'm a little sensitive to copyright issues ) @ Dirk--I'm a big Hitchcock fan, who as you know had a lot to do with the photography of his films (and considered himself first and foremost a visual artist). So thank-you! @ Caryl--thanks, too for your comments! I think the lens / camera did a great job bringing out the subtleties here that might have been lost otherwise!
