The cardboard box it comes in won't last long, and doesn't allow especially quick access. It's too thick for a Canon 72mm plastic filter case, which would otherwise be perfect. What do you use? Thanks.

The original box. Not ideal and it reduces its use. I suggest you search the forum because I recall a few ingenious solutions concerning containers unique to some countries.

At a US store selling all manner of containers I found a 2-piece clear plastic case designed to hold a hockey puck.  It worked well for my Elpro.  Alternatively, if anyone in your household have an old, cheap camera that came with a case, there's a good change the Elpro will fit nicely.

Bonjour,
j'ai un Elpro E69 pour mon D2. Pour le transporter dans mon sac, j'utilise un étui en plastique que j'ai aménagé.
c'est très simple, pratique et protecteur.
Voici quelques photos :

The following photos : (I used felt strips that I cut cleanly. I then placed it in the box, leaving just room for the Elpro lens ) :

The following photos :

The lens does not move at all when the case is closed.
The lid has small notches around its edge, so that it closes well and cannot be opened on its own.

Right you are. I found this:

Thanks (and also for the ideas in this present thread).

Luigi Crescenzi - LuigiCases (formerly "Leicatime") used to make a leather pouch specially for the Elpro-D, as shown below.  I don't know whether he still makes them but I would think it's worth asking and, who knows, he might have one or two left over that never sold.

Salut,

J'ai beau chercher sur son site mais je ne vois plus ces étuis pour Elpro E69. Je pense qu'il faut peut-être lui poser directement la question.

I've found Luigi's Elpro-D case that he still sells on his website for €40 and he calls it the "Elpro-D carrier".  It's very near the bottom of this page following a large photo of a Leica screw mount camera that is surrounded by colourful leather 120 film carriers and before a picture of an array of leather pouches.

Thank you, Pete. Luigi's case is a work of art, as are his other creations. It's curious, and I don't know whether it's important, that to close the case you push down on the snap, which pushes the top of the case against the glass. The case is lined, of course, as Luigi describes, so it's smooth leather pushing against the glass, but still . . .

Does anyone use one of these?

Hi John,

I had the same concern so I simply stuck a self-adhesive fluffy felt 'dot' on the inside of the case to cover where the stud might press on the Elpro-D and that has given me peace of mind and no marks on the glass.

Pete.
