Hello,

I bought a Novoflex adapter (Nikon lenses on Leica m) for my m10.
So far everything is fine, but the focus peaking and the enlargement in the live view probably do not work. Bug or feature?

best regards

To be clear focus peaking has nothing to do with the focus cam, it works via LV or Visoflex based on edge contrast. It does definitely work with a manual focus Nikon lens on an adapter and you would need to use LV/Visoflex to focus this combination anyway. I can't say why your focus peaking isn't working, perhaps not the right combination of buttons? I suppose you could try making the peaking effect stronger in the menu, and of course focus wide open for critical focus and then stop the lens down to the shooting aperture.

A Leica M lens switches on the focus assist (i.e. focus peaking and magnification of the LV image) of the M (Typ 240) when you turn the focus ring. The camera body detects the motion of the cam. Uncoupled lenses obviously don't do that, so you have to turn on the focus assists manually by using the button in front of the camera, as has been said (and as explained in the manual). Presumably, it's the same with the M10.

Just a service information:

The front button of the M10 has 3 different functions:

        1.  Manually switch On/Off the focus enlargement when using LV or EVF

        2.  Setting the exposure compensation while simultaneously turning the back wheel

             (alternative of using the menu)

        3.  Setting long exposure times (8 sec … 4 min) not indicated on the shutter dial

(pressing the front button while in Bulb gives a new set of long exposure times)
