The 2002 Turbos were pretty cool cars for their day...back in the early '70's 170hp in that little body was pretty impressive. I wrenched for a BMW specialist mechanic for a couple of years between engineering jobs back in the mid '80's. The guy who owned the shop was always looking for rare BMW's to add to his collection and he did manage to import a turbo. Hard to do for if I remember correctly, there were only 269 ever built. I love the old Rovers...and keep my eyes peeled for a 90 series. However, in the US they have become quite collectable so prices are way up. There certainly weren't many Turbos produced. The "Touring" made a nice semi-estate and a pretty quick one in Tii guise. Today it would probably called a Sportback. As for the 90, good luck with finding one. Since production stopped a couple of years ago prices of real Land Rovers have been gradually heading skyward, that includes the earlier Series, cart sprung versions. I'm thankful I bought the present one more than 10 years ago. Typical Land Rover though, it has had the rear section of chassis replaced (then the whole thing galvanised), the bulkhead (firewall) repaired and galvanised plus a lot of other things that tend to succumb to the old tinworm. Cost me quite a lot to have done. Several friends said don't bother, just buy a newer 90, but I didn't want all the vehicle electronics and potential issues with my ham radio gear. It should see me out I reckon and is only 30 years old in December. At nearly half my age I'm sure it will outlast me by a long way 1

While they look to be quite large vehicles, in reality they are tiny. Good stuff!

The attached link has a promo video Chevy did back in '57 climbing Pikes Peak off road with NAPCOs. jcraf Posted April 11, 2020 Share #160 Posted April 11, 2020 1909 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. This car was totally restored by official Rolls Royce dealer P&A Wood, which is about 4 miles from my home. They are said to be able to restore any RR, from any period. (There's always something of interest at P&A Wood. One day when I was driving past, John Lennon's psychedelic Phantom V was on the forecourt, having been shipped over from Canada for the launch event of the latest RR Phantom VIII. The Lennon car had gone to P&A Wood for a check over whilst over here. And yours truly had no camera with him that day.....However, seeing such an iconic car 'in the flesh' made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!). Welcome, dear visitor!
