jpreisch Posted March 25, 2020 Share #1  Posted March 25, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have just spent a couple of hours with a downloaded version of the CL owners manual. I can't find a discussion of the difference between the A, M, S, P modes and the modes with smaller a, p, s, m letters with a box around them. Can any one explain or reference the page in the owners manual where it is explained. Thanks, Jim

tommonego@gmail.com Posted March 25, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted March 25, 2020 Can't reference the manual but the lower case letters with a box around it are for video and audio. Â

jpreisch Posted March 25, 2020 Author Share #5  Posted March 25, 2020 Thanks everyone for your answers. My question was partially addressed by Tommonego in the first answer. But the big question I have is, what is the effect of selecting small A with a box (looks like a movie camera) when shooting stills? This was not addressed by page 039.pdf or 075.pdf. And I can't find that particular icon addressed anywhere in the pdf manual.
tommonego@gmail.com Posted March 25, 2020 Share #6  Posted March 25, 2020 I have made that mistake and it starts shooting a video, I believe the boxed a is with audio.

That is the way to switch the camera to video - so you won't be shooting stills. Page 102 of the manual.
jpreisch Posted April 1, 2020 Author Share #8  Posted April 1, 2020 Thanks to everyone who answered. You can tell by my naivete I don't do video, and if I did, I think it would be blasphemy to use a Leica to do it. Jim
