Advertisement Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Hi graham_mitchell, Take a look here Hanna and the cross. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
leicamann Posted August 11, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 11, 2006 Yeah..this kinda picks up from where Madonna left off..and yeah..the symbolism is appropo..it speaks to how many people feel about the turn of world events especially with the Neo crazies at the helm..just chomping to use a few Nukes..this image here evokes from Hamlet.....here Gertrude narrates how Ophelia dies....... There is a willow grows aslant a brook, That shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream; There with fantastic garlands did she come Of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples That liberal shepherds give a grosser name, But our cold maids do dead men's fingers call them: There, on the pendent boughs her coronet weeds Clambering to hang, an envious sliver broke; When down her weedy trophies and herself Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide; And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up: Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes; As one incapable of her own distress, Or like a creature native and indued Unto that element: but long it could not be Till that her garments, heavy with their drink, Pull'd the poor wretch from her melodious lay To muddy death. Regards, Leica Mann:)

stuny Posted August 11, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2006 Graham - This photo, and the ones on your site show that you have a wonderful eye, terrific imagination, and all the tehcnical abilities to pull it off successfully as exemplified by this shot. BTW: I encourage you to post the head shot of the woman wearing the canvas hat, bathed in warm, low light. Also, you continue to show us that Estonia produces some of the most attractive models working today. And Jaak's daughter (he's from Tallinn) will join those ranks, soon. That's a very nice compliment - thanks! I'll post the image you suggest. By the way, there are only 3 Estonian girls on my site at the moment. The others are Danish, Swedish and Latvian. I know Jaak, in fact he talked me into moving here ok, does anyone prefer this one?
stuny Posted August 11, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 11, 2006 I prefer the other for its directness. Both are appropriately disturbing, but this one a bit more, too.
vic vic Posted August 11, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 11, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) graham hi dont know - like them both - the first one is more static and "iconic" while the second is more dynamic partly because of the angle of photo (camera) partly because of models expression. albertwang Posted August 11, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 11, 2006 First one is better. I like the way her eyes roll opposite to the way the cross is going. Two strobes eh?
graham_mitchell Posted August 12, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted August 12, 2006 Thanks for the feedback. Here's a retouched versionof #
jacksparrow Posted August 13, 2006 Share #10 Posted August 13, 2006 Nice pics, I prefer the second, but might be just because it reminds me more Millais's Ophelia http://artchive.com/artchive/M/millais/millais_ophelia.jpg.html thanks for showing
robert_parker Posted August 14, 2006 Share #11 Posted August 14, 2006 Graham At first look I preferred the second but the final edit of #1 conveys a whole range of emotions and possibilities and is undoubtedly the winner for me
jackart Posted August 14, 2006 Share #12 Posted August 14, 2006 Nice pics, I prefer the second, but might be just because it reminds me more Millais's Ophelia Millais: Ophelia thanks for showing Nice pick, Jack. mgcd Posted August 16, 2006 Share #13 Posted August 16, 2006 Graham - the revised image is truly well done. What did you shoot this with? Cheers,
wilfredo Posted August 16, 2006 Share #14 Posted August 16, 2006 Graham, Your shots are simply beautiful. I can't imagine that the designer would not be pleased. I'm wondering if the designer plans to sell this cross necklace? Out of curiosity who would wear it? Any idea? I've noticed an increase in crosses as fashion accessories and I've often wondered where this fascination comes from? It can't all just be about imitating Madonna. Any idea?
