Advertisement Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Hi MMorgado, Take a look here adapting diopter correction lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
a.noctilux Posted March 5, 2020 Share #2 Â Posted March 5, 2020 Decades ago, as I was poor Leica M user, and Leitz made correction lenses were out of my price range, then as I've found a way to "adapt" those Nikon diopters on my M4 of that period, I did regret the "poor adaption". The Nikon diopter correction was bigger than M, so I just glued the Nikon inverted on the M. The rear lens was flat and I lost in M viewfinder far edge frame lines of 35mm. Big problem, when I wanted to remove the glued Nikon diopter lens. Â Not to be done again, since that day of brainless youth.
MMorgado Posted March 5, 2020 Author Share #3  Posted March 5, 2020 Hi, thank you for your reply. yes, gluing is out of question. I have 3 nikon diopter correction, so I looking for a solution for example like this: https://www.dagcamera.com/store/p110/_1.0_DIOPTER_for_Leica_M_Cameras_up_to_and_including_the_M6-TTL.html Only for the adapter, so I can put the nikon correction.. If i find the -2 leica adapter, sure, I'll buy it, but they are quit rare and the ones that I find are ridiculous expensive! payasam Posted March 6, 2020 Share #4 Â Posted March 6, 2020 Don Goldberg (DAG Camera) some years back sent me a small, flat ring with M Leica threads projecting on one side. I had my optician make me a lens of the required strength and small enough to attach to the outer face of the ring. It was not elegant but it did the job. romualdo Posted March 7, 2020 Share #5 Â Posted March 7, 2020 (edited) Last week I purchased a +2 modified Nikon Diopter from DAG - in transit as we speak - we'll see how it goes - I've used +1 & +2 genuine Leica diopters (on my M3, MP & M240) - always found them second hand & in excellent condition - refuse to pay the full (IMHO extortionate) price for these - one of the big Leica rip-offs Edited March 7, 2020 by romualdo
payasam Posted March 7, 2020 Share #6 Â Posted March 7, 2020 Glad to hear this. Not having seen a Nikon correction lens, I shall have to write to Don and ask what the modification entailed.

I'm happy with it - it snaps over the original eyepiece & it quite stable, though rotates (requires a bit of effort to remove it ie won't fall off or get knocked off easily) I does protrude caudally somewhat (approx 7mm), when compared to the flush design of the original diopters, but that is not an issue for me. Don has added a circular sleeve to the original Nikon diopter, enabling the unit to effectively attach to the existing eyepiece He's come up with a little beauty IMHO - recommended, especially for the price when compared to the originals Welcome, dear visitor! edstock Posted September 27, 2020 Share #9  Posted September 27, 2020 Allow me to add my thoughts. I have used correction diopters for years, first on my Canons then I added diopters where available to my other cameras. Since I wear glasses I much prefer taking them off and bring the viewfinder up to my eye. Works or me and diopters are available for Leica's. I need to get one for my M6 acquisition.
