alainD Posted March 5, 2020 Share #21 Â Posted March 5, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) About the SL 50mm Summilux: I'm using it with the SL2 grip. I adds bit of weight, but it balances out much better IMHO. Â
Advertisement Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Hi alainD, Take a look here Prime for SL2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FlashGordonPhotography Posted March 5, 2020 Share #22  Posted March 5, 2020 I kept my SL50 1.4 when I bought the Summicron and I’m glad I did. The f2 is incredible but I prefer the 1.4. If I want to travel light the 50 f2, 90f2 and a Q2 make a great light kit for 90% of what I need. But I’ll carry the 50 1.4 if I know people are going to be photographed. sebas_ Posted March 5, 2020 Share #23  Posted March 5, 2020 I have transitioned from the Fuji Gfx system to the Leica SL 2 and opted for the 35 and 75 summicrons for a start. Albeit having the Zeiss Milvus EF 18, 35 and 50M and the sigma EF to L adapter.   I recently added the sigma 14 for virtual tour photography. I really like the 75mm focal length for portraiture. It seems to be a focal length, which works best for me for this usage case. But yeah, the best would be to try out the lenses as everybody has some different preferences. I am sharing your thought about the SL2 being a great camera.

To clarify, are you referring there to preferring the “rendering” of the Summilux generally? Or the fact that it gives you a shorter depth of field by dint of it being f1.4 wide open? Thanks again! Maybe a little smoother transitions and a little less "supercrisp/contrasty" than the Summicron. But I cant proof it with direct comparisons.
