RobM Posted February 26, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I couldn't find anywhere else to place this image, but here goes: Leica M-A, Monochrom 1, IIIg (foreground) and Pentax 6x7. None of them are perfect, all are mavericks, they can drive me up the wall or to a kind of heaven. Three analogue, one digital. All at least second hand. Various lenses, including a screw mount to M adapter, so I can use the much cheaper and older Leitz lenses on the digital Monochrom. I love the fact that they are not all perfect specimens of what a camera could be, but have character, characters I can work with. The push-in lens on the M-A (far left) has a rubber band on it to remind me not to push it in when it is on the Monochrom body, as it will scratch the sensor. All keepers. Welcome, dear visitor! When i came home i said to my wife - It feels so uncomfortable that i need to sell my MM1 now! - Don't do it! - she answered - This camera means something special for us! Can i use it by myself sometimes? - But it can do only black-and-white... - I will buy a colour lens for it! 3
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! RobM Posted February 27, 2020 Author Share #8 Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) Indeed it is, and it has taken me a decade to put it together. Photography has gradually taken over my life. pippy Posted February 29, 2020 Share #13 Posted February 29, 2020 (edited) I hate to be predictable but I, too, absolutely loved your images, Rob. Very Much So! Wonderful! Thanks for posting your link - and say 'Hi' to Auld Reekie for me. I miss her on a daily basis. If I may ask a non-photographic-related question? What is the 'Harp-Guitar'-like instrument pictured on your homepage? It is clearly of a VERY high quality indeed but the construction / scale-lengths for such an instrument are not in my ken - not that that means much... Philip. RobM Posted February 29, 2020 Author Share #14 Posted February 29, 2020 Cheers, Philip. That's an 8-string Viennese classical guitar, quite popular in the age of Beethoven. It has the regular six strings plus two "floating" bass strings, tuned to D and C. My classical guitar website is https://rmclassicalguitar.com and regular music website is https://robmackillop.net
convexferret Posted February 29, 2020 Share #15 Posted February 29, 2020 Well, that was 2 hours of my life well spent Rob. Some great videos and photos. It’s lovely to see my home town through another’s eyes, while listening to such an enchanting soundtrack. 1

Thank you : ) they go very well together; I've been posting shots on flickr if you wanna check them out. This lens is indeed very hard to find, I was lucky to have found one in good condition..as soon as I saw it I got it right away Rendering wise I'd say it's my favorite tied with the 8e summicron.
