davidrc Posted February 23, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, If I could fathom how to get my various browsers / devices to work fully with the forum, i'd love to know. I find firefox on my imac is the only (if albeit inconvenient) way to get the forum to work properly. ie, open the gallery. No doubt it will be a OS / Update / browser issue. I would love to be able to upload my photos to share with you all. Loving the M240. Questions.... 240 then.... Exp comp. Sussed out the front button and wheel combo to set it, but strangly after this the wheel remains "active" to be able to change at any time. Bit odd that I think because I know the wheel is getting knocked and the setting moved accidentally. Am I doing something wrong? Can the exp + - be locked after setting? Using R lenses, can anyone assist in saying which is a good brand other than leica (or is proprietory the best way to go) to use as an adapter? And is live view the only way to be able to focus (other than zonal) ? And what approx view would a 50mm R lens give, crop factor? Lastly, how do I easily track my posts? I'm a bit of a forum newbie. Thanks in advance.

No doubt it will be a OS / Update / browser issue. Safari 13.0.5 works normally under Mac OS 10.13.6 on my iMac from 2011. I have no experience with current iMacs though. 1 hour ago, davidrc said: And what approx view would a 50mm R lens give, crop factor? Being a full frame body, there is no crop factor on the M240 so a 50mm R lens will keep its 50mm field of view on this camera. 1 hour ago, davidrc said: 240 then.... Exp comp. You may wish to try SET > Exposure Compensation : Off

Correct? If I understand you. SET> off would disable though.... I take it then that there is no way to "lock" the wheel whilst exp comp is in use? Correct? Again, if I understand you. My tip should do what you're looking for (SET > Exposure Compensation : Off). Edit: Just tried on my M240. Turning the wheel won't change exposure compensation if you don't press the front button. Ah ha!!! Yes, press the front button again and it locks it. It's a great manual to read, but as they are so long winded you can miss bits. You don't have a "click" confirm on the button, so it's hard to spot. Thanks a lot.

Actually, having computers ranging from High Sierra to Catalina and from Windows 7 to 10, I find the forum works flawlessly on : Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer and Edge, as well as on OIS devices. there must be some security setting you have wrong. Any (coded) third party R adapter will work just fine, but you won't find the lens data in EXIF unless you select the lens in menu (nor will you with the Leica adapter). The best way to focus in my experience is using the EVF with magnification.

It's the only browser that will. And it's the same for many other sites, depends what the site is and how it's formatted. I was having trouble with the other browsers opening the "gallery" pages. As for catalina....you only have to read the problems in the photography press about problems with that if updating from a previous OS. You have been so warned. If I change mine I will lose LR access as V5 will not be supported.....and read about canon printers which are run with 32 bit.....cat is 64 only, not backwards 32. I will probably give the R's a go. Someone has said that the R's will retain the nominal angle of view, because the 240 is full frame. You've been round the block a bit, so to speak, is that right?
