andybarton Posted August 8, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted August 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looks like they have blanked us out, folks. Â Anyone here tried to download the latest Flexcolor update?
Advertisement Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Hi andybarton, Take a look here DMR users and Imacon Software downloads. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mgcd Posted August 8, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted August 8, 2007 I downloaded 4.6 (or was it 4.7?) a couple of months ago with no problems but never bothered to install it. Personally, I'm not feeling a big sense of loss if that's the case...
mgcd Posted August 8, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted August 8, 2007 Just tried, you're right there does not seem to be a way to access the information - I did not really try very hard mind you. Anyway, may be time to tell Hasselblad where to flog their emails using the Flexcolor contact database... Â Cheers,
topoxforddoc Posted August 8, 2007 Share #4  Posted August 8, 2007 Andy,  I've just downloaded 4.7 this evening from Hassy's UK site  Charlie
mgcd Posted August 8, 2007 Share #5  Posted August 8, 2007 Andy - I think all references to Imacon have been converted to Hasselblad. The URL has been changed to Hasselblad's home page.  Login  As I said, I did not look very hard...  Cheers,
sdai Posted August 8, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted August 8, 2007 I have 4.7.1 but it's all about the firmware upgrade for the H series and level 3 DAC, it has nothing to do with the DMR. Â I can attach a readme file if you want to look.
andybarton Posted August 9, 2007 Author Share #7  Posted August 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Andy - I think all references to Imacon have been converted to Hasselblad. The URL has been changed to Hasselblad's home page. Login  As I said, I did not look very hard...  Cheers,  Thanks guys.  Conrad,  I got this far, several times, yesterday, but when I log in it just says that I am not authorised to view the next page.  If 4.7 offers nothing more for us than 4.6, then I will forget it. It's just that I like to keep my software up to date if I can.
Jamie Roberts Posted August 9, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted August 9, 2007 Andy-- Â Here's the answer. I had to re-register my DMR back at the Hasselblad site, even though I had an Imacon profile. I'm downloading 4.7.1 right now. Â The reason I'm doing that, BTW, is that even if you prefer to use C1, the FlexColor ICC profile for the DMR is excellent (especially for skin, IMO). I also use the DMR tethered from time to time, so that's that: I need FlexColor. Â I'll let you know if it fixed the 4.6 bugs I had (noisy spots in the develop). EH21 Posted August 11, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted August 11, 2007 I was also able to download the latest 4.7 version of flexcolor by reregistering. Â Got a question though: I see that I have 4 color profiles for Leica r8, Leica r9, and leica DMR, and leica generic. What's the one that flexcolor uses? I must have picked up the other profiles with different software trials cause I know its not coming with Lightroom. Â Eric
Jamie Roberts Posted August 11, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted August 11, 2007 You picked them up with C1. Â FlexColor will automatically use its own profiles (and switches them depending if you use the "old style" film curve and other choices). Â The other profiles are C1's DMR profiles (the ones with the camera name in them, IIRC). Â Personally, I prefer the FC profiles even in C1, though even better in C1 (perhaps not oddly at all given we're talking similar Kodak sensors here) are the H20 /P25 profiles for different kinds of light and skin tones. WhooHoo!
kidigital Posted August 22, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted August 22, 2007 Hi Jamie, here's a quick question. I have the latest version of flexcolor downloaded, how do I pull the DMR or other H20/P25 profiles into C1? Thanks for any help you may be able to provide. Â Kurt
sdai Posted August 22, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted August 22, 2007 Kurt, after you install the Flexcolor it'll put the Imacon profiles in the same directory where C1 picks up other profiles. Â Now go into C1, open up a DMR image, it'll by default assign the R8 generic or R9 generic profile to the image, you could go to Workflow-> Show Color Management Settings and choose Leica DMR, Leica DMR Default or Leica DMR v9 instead ... these 3 are Imacon profiles. EH21 Posted August 23, 2007 Share #13 Â Posted August 23, 2007 Thanks for the info...I only was able to find the V8 but couldn't see v9. Wow if there is a v9 I would like to have it. I liked the imacon/hassleblad profies best too. Flexcolor IMHO still does the best RAW conversion. I just wish the workflow integrated with something that did DAM. robsteve Posted September 4, 2007 Share #14  Posted September 4, 2007 I just downloaded the latest version of Flexcolor and just used the user ID I created when I downloaded the Flexcolor almost two years ago.  It crashes though if you open a directory that contains M8 files as well as DMR files.  I processed an image through Flexcolor and I must agree with Eric that it is still the best RAW converter for the DMR files. The reds seem to be much more accurate in Flexcolor than in Capture One V4 or Lightroom.  Here is the image with difficult reds that I processed with Flexcolor. All I did was hit the Auto button with highlight and shadow cast removal enabled. The colour was just AWB on the DMR.  Robert
bnelson Posted September 4, 2007 Share #15 Â Posted September 4, 2007 You guys have given me the urge to get my R9/DMR back out of storage, actually non use, and give it a try again. Â I also registered at the Hasselblad site and downloaded the Flexcolor software.
